Surfaces: Hurricane Milton
Hurricane Milton has hit South Florida. As it goes up the coast, it leaves destruction in its wake. My designs focus on the idea of being caught in the storm, seeing a moment of clarity once you reach the eye of the hurricane, and the damage it all leaves on what once was a perfectly tailored suit. The manipulations on wool fabrics are inspired by the effects of the hurricane on clothing. This includes mimicking water damage through rusting the fabrics with metal to create yellow stains. This also features bleaching the fabrics to l let the fabrics be eaten away by the bleach to create holes in the fabric. I also used powdered contour and bronzer to simulate dirt stains.
