CFDA: Mosaic Stairs
Walking up the hills of San Francisco, you reach the Golden Heights neighborhood. The hills start to become steeper and the roads begin to curve, yet a set of Mosaic stairs is there to help you reach home. My project aims to find the charm in what would have been difficult to walk in neighborhood in a walkable city. Inspired by the community garden created by the neighborhood, my CFDA project focuses on sustainability. The project is made of entirely Piñatex, a Pineapple-based leather alternative. The color block style was based on the geometric shape of the stairs and the mosaic tiles that an artist used to decorate the stairs in the Golden Heights district.
